The Key to Long Term Fitness

In today's society, we have been trained to think that everything comes quickly. We have been trained to think that you can get something for nothing. Trained to think that we can get that perfect body without diet and exercise. Led to believe that all we have to do is take a pill or wear an ab belt for 30 minutes a day. This isn't real. If you see someone with a great body, I guarantee you that they put in the hard work to get it. They aren't special, and you can also achieve the same with the right mindset and attitude.

When most people start a new workout program, they go hard for 2-3 weeks, and usually give up. They aren't seeing results that they envisioned in their mind and they get discouraged. They put in all the hard work for a couple of weeks and get mad when they don't see the 6-pack abs yet. What you need to understand is that the body makes changes slowly in the beginning. It takes time to put on the weight, and it also takes time to get it off.

I remember when I finished my first round of Insanity. I killed myself for 60 days and after all that work, I didn't have the abs I wanted. I definitely got discouraged for a little bit. I had 2 choices to make. Do I stop working out and give up on my dream of having the body I want, or do I commit to another 60 days of torture with Shaun T.? I chose to do another round of Insanity, and it was the best decision I've ever made! Fitness is a lifelong journey, not a short term commitment.

I don't like working out daily, but I like having a healthy body. It's a lifestyle I have come to embrace, and I do not miss being fat or overweight at all. You only get one body in this lifetime, so you have to take care of it. Don't give up when you don't get the results as quick as you wanted. Keep working hard, and the results will come. I Promise!
